"Atlantic Interviews" Episode With Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

The Atlantic launched a new podcast called Atlantic Interviews and their first interview was with Nigerian-American novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.  Adichie wrote a stunning piece for The New Yorker in December about the impact of the last presidential election.

Her interview is fascinating and funny, but one thing she said was incredible and frankly frightening.  She spoke of her surprise at the ease with which – stereotypically individualistic and egalitarian – Americans accept all manner of authority.  She said that it surprised her to learn how easily "Americans bow to power."

Not comforting.
