David Frum on Jeff Flake and Political Courage

David Frum wrote a short piece for The Atlantic today where he offers a characteristically helpful assessment of Jeff Flake's decision not to run for re-election.

He argues that the political courage or lack thereof is irrelevant, more or less.  For example, he states:

"Yet from a political rather than a moral point of view, the question, 'Where were you when it counted?' is the wrong question. It always counts. It counted then, it counts now, it will count in future."
